Netherlands - 2017/18 Eerste Divisie

The Dutch First Division or better known as Jupiler League is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Jupiler League.

A total of 20 teams are taking part in the league. 2016–17 Eerste Divisie champions VVV-Venlo gained promotion to the Eredivisie, and was replaced by Go Ahead Eagles, who finished bottom in the 2016–17 Eredivisie. NAC won the post-season playoff, and are replaced in the 2017–18 Eerste Divisie by NEC. Also, Achilles '29 were relegated and replaced by Tweede Divisie champions Jong AZ who became the fourth Reserves side to make it to the second tier of Dutch football.

At an extraordinary KNVB federation meeting on October 2, 2017, representatives of the amateur and professional football reached an agreement about the route to be taken to renew the football pyramid. Part of the Agreement was that no promotion/relegation will take place between the Eerste and Tweede Divisie for the current season.

FYR Macedonia - 2017/18 Macedonian Second Football League

The 2017–18 Macedonian Second Football League is the 26th season of the Macedonian Second Football League, the second division in the Macedonian football league system. The fixtures were announced on 7 August 2017. The season began on 27 August 2017 and will conclude in May 2018. It's the first season since 1999–2000 with the new format, which as the league is divided into two groups, East and West, with 10 teams participating in each group

Haiti - 2017 Ligue Haïtienne

Ligue Haïtienne is a Haitian professional league, governed by the Haitian Football Federation, for association football clubs. It is the country's primary football competition and serves as the top division of the Haitian football league system.

The 2017 Ligue Haïtienne season is the 54th season of top-tier football in Haiti. It began on 4 March 2017. The league is split into two tournaments—the Série d'Ouverture and the Série de Clôture—each with identical formats and each contested by the same 16 teams.

In a change from last year, the number of teams in the league has been reduced from 18 to 16. Also, the playoffs for both seasons have been changed, having 6 teams qualify with seeds 3 through 6 starting in the quarterfinals and the 1 and 2 seeds starting in the semifinals.

At the end of the 2016 season, the bottom 4 teams in the aggregate table; Aigle Noir AC, Roulado FC, Inter, and Violette AC; were relegated to the Haitian second level leagues. Replacing them were two clubs from the Haitian second level leagues; Éclair AC and AS Sud-Est.

It should also be noted that Réal du Cap has changed its name to Real Hope FA.

The 2017 Série d'Ouverture began on 4 March 2017 and ended on 25 June 2017.

Guatemala - 2017/18 Liga Nacional de Fútbol

Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala (National Football League of Guatemala), formerly known as Liga Mayor "A" (Major League "A") is a professional football division in Guatemala, the highest one in the country. 

The 2017–18 Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala season is the 20th season in which the Apertura and Clausura season is used. The season began on 28 July 2017 and will end in 2018.

The format for both championships are identical. Each championship will have two stages: a first stage and a playoff stage. The first stage of each championship is a double round-robin format. The teams that finish first and second in the standings will advance to the playoffs semifinals, while the teams that finish 3–6 will enter in the quarterfinals. The winner of each quarterfinal will advance to the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will advance to the finals, which will determine the tournament champion.

The 2017 Torneo Apertura began on 28 July 2017 and will end in December 2017.

The 2018 Torneo Clausura is expected to begin in January 2018 and end in May 2018.

Sweden - 2017 Superettan

Superettan  is an association football league and the second highest league in the league system of Swedish men's football. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Allsvenskan and Division 1. Seasons run from April to October, with teams playing 30 matches each, totalling 240 matches in the season.

The 2017 Superettan is part of the 2017 Swedish football season, and the 17th season of Superettan, Sweden's second-tier football division in its current format. A total of 16 teams contest the league.

Tunisia - 2017/18 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2

The Ligue Professionelle 2 is the second football level in Tunisia, under Ligue Professionelle 1 which is the top level of Tunisian football. Contested by 14 clubs, playing each other twice during the season, the top two teams are promoted at the end of the season, whilst the bottom two teams are relegated to the Ligue Professionnelle 3.

During the past few years the name of the competition has changed several times, with the league being known as Division d'honneur (Honor division). National B, Ligue 2 and Championnat de la Ligue Professionnelle 2

Scotland - 2017/18 Scottish Premiership

The Scottish Premiership, known for sponsorship reasons as the Ladbrokes Premiership,is the top division of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), the league competition for men's professional football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish Premiership was established in July 2013, after the SPFL was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League.

The 2017–18 Scottish Premiership  is the fifth and current season of the Scottish Premiership, the highest division of Scottish football. The fixtures were published on 23 June 2017. The season began on 5 August 2017. 

Twelve teams contest the league: 

In the initial phase of the season, the 12 teams will play a round-robin tournament whereby each team plays each one of the other teams three times. After 33 games, the league splits into two sections of six teams, with each team playing each other in that section. The league attempts to balance the fixture list so that teams in the same section play each other twice at home and twice away, but sometimes this is impossible. A total of 228 matches will be played, with 38 matches played by each team.

Matches 1-22: Teams play each other twice, once at home and once away.

Matches 23-33: Teams play every other team once (either at home or away).

Premiership Play-Offs

The quarter-finals will be contested between the 3rd and 4th placed teams in the Scottish Championship. The winners will advance to the semi-finals to face the 2nd placed team in the Championship, and the winners of that tie will advance to the final to play-off against the 11th placed team in the Premiership, with the winners securing a place in the 2018–19 Scottish Premiership.

Georgia - 2017 Erovnuli Liga (ეროვნული ლიგა)

The Erovnuli Liga is the top division of professional football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017 Georgia switched to Spring-Autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight.

The 2017 Erovnuli Liga (formerly known as Umaglesi Liga) is the 29th season of top-tier football in Georgia. Samtrediaare the defending champions. The season began on 4 March 2017.

Zugdidi and Tskhinvali were directly relegated at the end of the previous season; Sioni Bolnisi and Guria Lanchkhuti were also relegated after losing play-off ties. Because the league contracted from 14 to 10 teams for this season, there was no promotion from the 2016 Pirveli Liga.
Each team will play the other nine teams home-and-away twice, for a total of 36 games each.

Torpedo Kutaisi win Georgian title thanks to 96th-minute penalty miss

A last-minute penalty. Score it and your team win the league. Miss, and your opponents are crowned champions instead.

Rarely does the long football season come down to one moment of such nerve-racking intensity. But that's exactly how Torpedo Kutaisi took the Georgian title on Sunday.

They were beating Dinamo Tbilisi 1-0 when, with seconds to play, the home side were awarded a penalty. A draw for Dinamo would be enough to win the Erovnuli Liga for a 17th time.

In the 96th minute, as Dinamo captain Otar Kiteishvili stepped up to take it, some Torpedo players could barely look.

But Kiteishvili smashed it into the legs of goalkeeper Roin Kvaskhvadze, who raced up the pitch with his fists in the air as the referee immediately blew for final whistle.

In the centre circle, players and staff mobbed their hero, while Dinamo players fell to the floor.

One Torpedo player, Merab Gigauri, ran across the running track behind the goal to celebrate with the travelling fans.

Torpedo, based in Georgia's second largest city Kutaisi - located about 250km west of capital Tbilisi - had wrapped up their fourth league title in the most dramatic of circumstances.

But after 36 league games - the Georgian season began in March this year - there is still one big match to play.
