Angola - 2017 Segundona

Gira Angola aka Segundona is the 2nd division of Angolan football (soccer). It is organized by the Angolan Football Federation and gives access to Angola's top tier football division Girabola.

The 2017 Gira Angola is the 22nd season of the second-tier football league in Angola. The season will run from 9 July to October 2017.

The league comprises 2 series, one 4 and the other 5 teams, the winner of each series being automatically promoted to the 2018 Girabola while the runners-up of each group will contest for the third spot. At the end of the regular season, the three series winners will play a round-robin tournament to determine the league champion

All teams in each group play in a double round robin system (home and away).

Angola - 2017 Girabola

The 2017 Girabola is the 39th season of top-tier football in Angola. The season starts on 10 February 2017.

The league comprised 16 teams, the bottom three of which will be relegated to the 2018 Gira Angola.

A total of 16 teams will contest the league, including 13 sides from the 2016 season and three promoted from the 2016 Gira Angola - Bravos do Maquis, J.G.M. and Santa Rita de Cássia.

On the other hand, 4 de Abril do K.K., Porcelana F.C. and Primeiro de Maio were the last three teams of the 2016 season and will play in the Gira Angola for the 2018 season. Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto are the defending champions from the 2016 season.

On January 23, 2017, Benfica de Luanda issued a press release stating that it would no longer participate in the Girabola, with effect from 2017 and until further notice, citing financial reasons, and that the club would focus on its youth academy and in turning the club into a sports company. With such decision, the club is liable to a heavy penalty by the Angolan Federation that might include a ban to participate in the girabola for an established period

For the repechage to fill the spot of Benfica de Luanda, a round-robin qualifier tournament was announced to be contested by the three relegated teams in the 2016 Girabola plus the two top-ranked teams in the 2016 Gira Angola.As four of the five invited teams declined to participate on financial grounds, Primeiro de Maio was selected to replace Benfica de Luanda.

The 2014 Gira Angola is the 20th season of the second-tier football league in Angola. The season runs from 27 July to November, 2014. Académica do Lobito the current league champions, were promoted to the 2015 Girabola.

The league comprises 3 series of 6, 5 and 6 teams with the winner of each series being promoted to the 2015 Girabola. At the end of the regular season, the three series winners will play a round-robin tournament to determine the league champion.

Girabola, or Campeonato Nacional de Futebol em Séniores Masculinos, is the top division of Angolan football. It is organized by the Angolan Football Federation.

The league winner and runner-up qualify for the CAF Champions League.
The 2014 Girabola is the 36th season of top-tier football in Angola. The season runs from 21 February to 8 November 2014. Kabuscorp are the defending champions, having won their first Angolan championship in 2013.
The league comprises 16 teams, the bottom three of which will be relegated to the 2015 Gira Angola.
