Austria - 2017/18 Erste Liga

The Austrian Football First League (German: Erste Liga) is the second highest professional division in Austrian football. It contains ten teams and is run in the same fashion as the Austrian Bundesliga. The champion of the league is promoted into the Bundesliga, the 9th has to play relegation against a team from one of the three regional leagues and the last placed team is directly relegated from the First League into the regional leagues. The league is currently known as the Sky Go Erste Liga for sponsorship reasons.

The destination of the bottom club of the First League depends upon which Land of the Federal Republic it is a member, joining one of the Regionalligen (or regional leagues) in the east, center or west of the country. The three regional league champions have to play a home and an away relegation game with the 9th of First League for two slots in the First League. Participation in the professional First League is conditional on their licensing by the fifth senate of the federal league. If the license is refused for economic reasons, one team fewer will be relegated.

The 2017–18 Austrian Football First League will be the 44th season of the Austrian second-level football league.

Austria - League system

The Bundesliga is the highest national league-club competition in Austria. It has ten teams, as does the second tier is the First Division (Erste Liga). The third tier consists of three parallel divisions which are the regional leagues (Regionalliga). These cover the different regions of Austria as follows: the East (Regionalliga Ost), which comprises teams from Vienna, Lower Austria, and Burgenland; the Central (Regionalliga Mitte), featuring teams from Styria, Carinthia, Upper Austria, and East Tyrol; and the West (Regionalliga West), competed for by teams from Salzburg, Tyrol, and Vorarlberg. The fourth tier is the state league (Landesliga), with the 2. Landesliga as the fifth tier in Lower Austria and Vienna. Most states have 7 to 10 official tiers, but in Vienna unofficial tiers exist under the normal tiers. They are not organized by the ÖFB, but theoretically the champions of these tiers can promote to the official ÖFB-tiers.

The Austrian Football Bundesliga is the highest-ranking national league club competition in Austrian football. It is the competition which decides the Austrian national football champions, as well the country's entrants for the various European cups run by UEFA. Since Austria stayed in sixteenth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2015–16 season, the league gained its first spot for the UEFA Champions League.

The 2017–18 Austrian Football Bundesliga is the 106th season of top-tier football in Austria. Red Bull Salzburg are the defending champions.

Austria - Regionalliga 2014/15

The Austrian Regional League is the third-highest division in Austrian football, after the Austrian Bundesligaand the First League. It is divided into three conferences: East (German: Ost), covering the states of Vienna,Lower Austria and Burgenland; Central (Mitte), covering the provinces of Styria, Carinthia, Upper Austria and the exclave of East Tyrol; and West, covering the provinces of SalzburgTyrol (with the exception of East Tyrol) and Vorarlberg.

Austria - Erste Liga 2014/15

The Austrian Football First League (German: Erste Liga) is the second highest professional division in Austrian football. It contains 10 teams and is run in the same fashion as the Austrian Bundesliga. The champion of the league is promoted into the Bundesliga, the 9th has to play relegation against a team from one of the three regional leagues and the last place is directly relegated from the First League into the regional leagues. The League was known as ADEG First League due to sponsorship of a supermarket chain until the end of the 2009-10 season. The new name of the league is "Heute für Morgen - Erste Liga" which translates to "Today for tomorrow - First League".

Austria - Bundesliga 2014/15

The Austrian Football Bundesliga (German: Österreichische Fußball-Bundesliga) is the highest-ranking national league club competition in Austrian football. It is the competition which decides the Austrian national football champions, as well the country's entrants for the various European cups run by UEFA. Since Austria climbed from nineteenth to fifteenth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2011–12 season, the league gained its second spot for the UEFA Champions League.

The Austrian Bundesliga, which began in the 1974–75 season, has been a separate registered association since 1 December 1991. It has been most won by the two Viennese giants FK Austria Wien, who were national champions 23 times, and SK Rapid Wien, who won the national title 32 times. At present it is composed of two divisions – the Bundesliga and First League, known as "tipp3-Bundesliga powered by T-Mobile" and "Heute für Morgen Erste Liga" for sponsorship reasons.

The current champions are FC Red Bull Salzburg, who won the 2013–14 competition.
