Belgium - 2017/18 First Amateur Division

The Belgian First Amateur Division is the third-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian First Division B. It was created by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 2016, coming in at the third level and pushing all divisions one level down.

The Belgian First Amateur Division was created in 2016 following an overhaul of the Belgian football league system which saw the number of professional clubs reduced to 24. As a result, from the third level and below only amateur clubs remain.The two remaining levels above the Belgian Provincial leagues were reformed into three amateur levels, namely the Belgian First Amateur Division, the Belgian Second Amateur Division and the Belgian Third Amateur Division. As a result, the Belgian Provincial Leagues dropped to the sixth level of the league system.

The season is a regular round-robin tournament with 16 teams. The top four teams after the regular season play a promotion playoff in which they keep 50% of the obtained points during the regular season and the team with the most points after the playoff is promoted to the Belgian First Division B.

Regarding relegation, the bottom three teams are automatically demoted, while the team finishing in 13th place play a relegation playoff together with three teams from the Belgian Second Amateur Division with the playoff winner obtaining a spot in the following season's Belgian First Amateur Division.

The 2017–18 Belgian First Amateur Division is the second season of the third-tier football league in Belgium, as it was established in 2016. The fixtures are scheduled to be announced near the end of June 2017.

• Lommel United was relegated from the 2016–17 Belgian First Division B after finishing last in the relegation play-offs. In the mid-season the team changed their name back to Lommel SK.
• Knokke was promoted after winning the 2016–17 Belgian Second Amateur Division A.
• Berchem Sport was promoted after winning the 2016–17 Belgian Second Amateur Division B.
• Châtelet was promoted after winning the 2016–17 Belgian Second Amateur Division C.
• Aalst won the Second Amateur Division promotion play-offs to obtain the final promotion spot.

Access conditions 
Starting from the 2017-2018 season, technical and administrative criteria must be fulfilled by the clubs wishing to take part in this division 1,2:

- Have minimum 7 players under contract with the status "semi-professional".
- Have a stadium of at least 1,500 seats (of which at least 300 seats).
- Have a lot with dimensions of 100-105m long and 64-68m wide.
- Have lighting of at least 300 LUX (derogation to 200 LUX the first season)
- In another area, participants in this division are expected to receive € 50,000 per season from professional football TV rights.

Regular Season

Promotion Play Offs
The teams finishing in the top four positions entered the promotion play-offs. The points obtained during the regular season were halved (and rounded up) before the start of the playoff. As Lommel were the only team which obtained a licence and qualified for the promotion play-offs, they were already certain of promotion even before the start of the playoffs.

Belgium - 2017/18 First Division B

The Belgian First Division B (officially known as Proximus League) is the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian First Division A. It was created by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 2016, replacing the Belgian Second Division.

The Belgian First Division B was created in 2016 as successor of the Belgian Second Division following an overhaul of the Belgian football league system which saw the number of professional clubs reduced to 24 and the number of teams at the second level of the football pyramid to 8.

The season comprises two separate competitions in which all 8 teams play each other twice. The winners of both competitions face each other in a two legged playoff with the winner promoted to the Belgian First Division A. The top three teams, excluding the promoted team, play together with the teams finishing in the positions 7 through 15 of the Belgian First Division A in a playoff for a ticket into the UEFA Europa League. The remaining four teams play a relegation playoff, with the last team relegating into the Belgian First Amateur Division.

The 2017–18 season of the Belgian First Division B will begin in August 2017 and end in April 2018. It will be the second season of the First Division B following a change in league format from the old Belgian Second Division. 

Promotion play-off

The winners of the opening tournament and the closing tournament will meet in a two-legged match to determine the division champion, who will promote to the 2018–19 Belgian First Division A. The team finishing highest in the aggregate table will play the second leg at home. In case one team wins both the opening and the closing tournament, these matches will not be played and the team is promoted automatically.

On 5 November 2017, Beerschot Wilrijk won the opening tournament and was therefore assured of playing at least the promotion play-offs.

Relegation play-off

The four bottom teams in the aggregate table will take part in the relegation play-offs in which they keep half of the points they collected during the overall regular season (rounded up). The team finishing in last position will relegate to the 2018–19 Belgian First Amateur Division.

Belgium - 2017/18 Jupiler Pro League

The Belgian First Division A is the top league competition for association football clubs in Belgium. Following the 2015–16 season it was renamed from the Belgian Pro League (officially known as Jupiler Pro League. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Belgian First Division B. Seasons run from late July to early May, with teams playing 30 matches each in the regular season, and then entering play-offs 1 or play-offs 2 according to their position in the regular season. Play-offs 1 (also known as the title playoffs) are contested by the top 6 clubs in the regular season, with each club playing each other twice. Play-offs 2 (also known as the Europa League playoff) are contested by teams ranked 7 to 15 in the regular season, divided in two groups of 6 teams playing each other twice (three teams from the Belgian First Division B also take part in playoff 2). The team finishing in 16th place is relegated. As of 2014 the league was sponsored by AB InBev, brewers of Jupiler beer, and officially known as Jupiler Pro League, the sponsor name for the 2016–17 Belgian First Division A is still unknown.

The 2017–18 Belgian First Division A is the 115th season of top-tier football in Belgium. The season began on 28 July 2017 and will conclude in May 2018. The fixtures were announced in early June 2017.

Belgium - Belgacom League 2014/15

The Belgian Second Division is the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system after the Belgian Pro League. It was created by the Belgian Football Association in 1905. Between 2008 and 2010 it was named EXQI League after a television channel owned by the league main sponsor, broadcaster Euro1080. At the end of the 2009/2010 season, Euro1080 showed no more interest in the league, due to financial terms. However in 2012, the league found a new sponsor with Belgacom, renaming the league to the Belgacom League.

The 2014–15 season of the Belgian Second Division (also known as Belgacom League for sponsorship reasons) began on 1 August 2014 and is scheduled to end in April 2014.
