Malta - 2017/18 First Division

The Maltese First Division (also known as the Bank of Valletta First Division due to sponsorship reasons) is the second-highest division in Maltese football, behind the Maltese Premier League and above the Maltese Second Division. The league has been running for many years.

14 teams take part in the league. The top two teams are promoted to the Maltese Premier League, whilst the three lowest-finishing teams are relegated to the Maltese Second Division. The third place team plays the tenth place team in the Maltese Premier League in a play-off game for promotion.Due to the expansion of the Maltese Premier League starting from the season 2017/18, 3 teams will be promoted while the 4th placed team will face the play-off game. On the other hand, only 2 teams will get relegated to the Maltese Second Division.

Malta - 2017/18 Maltese Premier League

The Maltese Premier League, known as BOV Premier League for sponsorship reasons with Bank of Valletta , is the top level league for football in Malta. The league was first competed in 1902.

The 2017–18 Maltese Premier League will be the 103rd season of top-flight league football in Malta. The season began on 18 August 2017 and will end in 22 April 2018. 
Hibernians are the defending champions, having won their 12th title the previous season.

Teams

Pembroke Athleta are relegated after they finished twelfth the previous season. They are replaced by Lija Athletic the 2016–17 Maltese First Division champions, Senglea Athletic the 2016–17 Maltese First Division runners-up, and Naxxar Lions the 2016–17 Maltese First Division Third Place.

Each team plays every other team in the league home-and-away for a total of 26 matches played each.

Malta - 2014/15 Maltese Third Division

The Maltese Third Division (also known as the Bank of Valletta Third Division) is the lowest league level in Maltese football. There are currently 22 teams participating in the league.

The Division comprises two sections - Section A with eleven teams and Section B with eleven teams. Both sections play two rounds with the winner in each group getting promoted to the Maltese Second Division. Relegation play-offs between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of both groups and the 10th place finisher of Second Division will determine the third team to be in the Second Division.

Because it is the lowest level in the Maltese Football League, there is no formal relegation from and promotion to the league. However, the two lowest placed teams have to reapply to take part the following season

The 2014–15 Maltese First Division (also known as 2014–15 BOV 1st Division due to sponsorship reasons) will began in 12 September 2014 and will end in 16 April 2015.

Malta - 2014/15 Premier League

The Maltese Premier League, known as BOV Premier League for sponsorship reasons (colloquially known as Il-Kampjonat, Il-Lig, or Il-Premjer), is the top level league for football in Malta. The league was first competed in 1909. In the Maltese football system, there are three divisions under the Premier League, they are; the First, Second and Third divisions.

Prior to 1980, the top level of the Maltese Football League was known as the First Division; however, it was renamed the Premier League and has stayed so since, with the First Division (formerly known as the Second Division) one level lower.

The 2014–15 Maltese Premier League is the 100th season of the Maltese Premier League, Valletta are the defending champions, having won their 22nd title the previous season.

The Premier League consists of three rounds for a total of 33 games. After the end of the second round the points earned are halved.
