The Serbian SuperLiga is a Serbian professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Serbian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 16 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the Serbian First League (Prva liga Srbija, second Serbian football tier). The SuperLiga was formed during the summer of 2005 as the country's top football league competition in Serbia and Montenegro. Since summer 2006 after the secession of Montenegro from Serbia, the league only has had Serbian clubs.
The 2017–18 Serbian SuperLiga is the twelfth season of the Serbian SuperLiga since its establishment. The season began on 21 July 2017 and is scheduled to end on 19 May 2018. FK Partizan are the defending champions from the previous season.
The league consists of 16 teams: fourteen teams from the 2016–17 Serbian SuperLiga and two new teams from the 2016–17 Serbian First League. Mačva Šabac, the 2016–17 First League champion, joined SuperLiga for the first time in history. Runners-up Zemun joined the top level ten years after being relegated.
