Finland - 2017 Kakkonen

Kakkonen or II divisioona is the third level in the league system of Finnish football 

A total of 36 teams will contest the league divided into three groups, Lohko A (Group A), Lohko B (Group B) and Lohko C (Group C). 25 returning from the 2016 season, two relegated from Ykkönen and nine promoted from Kolmonen. The champion of each group and the best runner-up will qualify to promotion matches to decide which two teams get promoted to the Ykkönen. The bottom three teams in each group will qualify directly for relegation to Kolmonen. Each team will play a total of 22 matches, playing twice against each team of its group.

KTP and FC Jazz were relegated from the 2016 Ykkönen, while FC Honka and IF Gnistan were promoted to the 2017 Ykkönen.

The league divided into 3 groups of 12 teams. Each club plays the others in its group twice. The group winners and the best second place team have a chance of winning one of two promotion places to Ykkönen after a four team playoff. The bottom three teams in each group 10, 11 and 12 will be relegated to Kolmonen.

At the end of the season, a comparison is made between the runner-ups. The best runner-up will qualify to promotion matches.

Finland - 2017 Ykkönen

Ykkönen (Finnish for 'Number One'; Swedish: Ettan) is the second highest level of the Finnish football league system(after the Veikkausliiga), although it is the highest league managed by the Football Association of Finland.

The 2017 Ykkönen is the 46th season of Ykkönen, the second highest football league in Finland. The season will start on 29 April 2016 and end on 21 October 2016. The winning team will qualify directly for promotion to the 2018 Veikkausliiga, the second has to play a play-off against the eleventh team from Veikkausliiga to decide who will play in that division. The bottom 2 teams will qualify directly for relegation to Kakkonen.

A total of ten teams will contest in the league,including seven sides from the 2016 season, and FC Honka and Gnistan who were promoted from Kakkonen after winning the promotion play-offs.

PK-35 Vantaa, who were relegated from Veikkausliiga, declared bankruptcy and withdrew their spot from the league.OPS took their spot in the league.

KTP and FC Jazz were relegated from 2016 Ykkönen.

JJK, the champion of 2016 Ykkönen, was promoted to the 2017 Veikkausliiga.

Like the Veikkausliiga, the first division is played mainly during the summer. It comprises 10 clubs, all of whom play three matches against all other clubs in the division. The winner of the Ykkönen qualifies directly for promotion to Veikkausliiga, and the team finishing second in the league will play a two-legged promotion playoff against the team finishing 11th in the Veikkausliiga. The bottom 2 clubs are directly relegated to Kakkonen.

Finland - 2017 Veikkausliiga

The 2017 Veikkausliiga will be the eighty-seventh season of top-tier football in Finland. IFK Mariehamn are the defending champions.

Fixtures for the 2017 season were announced on 19 January 2017. The season started on 5 April 2017 and ended in 28 October 2017.

PK-35 Vantaa were relegated to Ykkönen after finishing at the bottom of the 2016 season. Their place was taken by Ykkönen champions JJK.

FC Inter as 11th-placed team regained their Veikkausliiga spot after beating the second-placed Ykkönen team TPS 2–0 on aggregate in a relegation/promotion playoff.

Each team plays three times against every other team, either twice at home and once away or once at home and twice away, for a total of 33 matches played each.

Finland - 2015 Ykkönen

A total of ten teams will contest in the league, including five sides from the 2014 season, TPS who was relegated from Veikkausliiga, EIF and PS Kemi who promoted from Kakkonen after winning the promotion play-offs, VIFK, the winner of Kakkonen 2014 Western Group as a replacement for promoted Ilves and MP, the runner-up Kakkonen 2014 Eastern Group as a replacement for MYPA.

FC Viikingit and JIPPO were relegated from 2014 Ykkönen.

HIFK, the champion of 2014 Ykkönen, KTP, the runner-up of 2014 Ykkönen, and Ilves, which finished third in Ykkönen were promoted to the 2015 Veikkausliiga.

It comprises 10 clubs, all of whom play three matches against all other clubs in the division. The winner of the Ykkönen qualifies directly for promotion to Veikkausliiga and the team finishing second in the league, will play two legged promotion playoff against the team finishing 11th in the Veikkausliiga. Finland - 2015 Veikkausliiga

 

The 2015 Veikkausliiga will be the eighty-fifth season of top-tier football in Finland. HJK Helsinki are the defending champions.

TPS were relegated to Ykkönen after finishing at the bottom of the 2014 season. Their place was taken by Ykkönen champions HIFK.

FC Honka and MYPA were not given a license due to the clubs bad economic situation. The two places were given for KTP, the runner-up of 2014 Ykkönen, and Ilves, which finished third in Ykkönen.

Finland - Veikkausliiga 2014

 

Veikkausliiga  is the premier division of Finnish football, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called Mestaruussarja (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league.
