Uruguay - 2018 Primera División


The Liga Profesional de Primera División  is the highest professional football league in Uruguay and organized by the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).



The 2018 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the Campeonato Uruguayo 2018, will be the 115th season of Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 88th in which it is professional. The season will be named as "Ing. Julio César Franzini" and it is scheduled to begin on February 3..
The format to be used in this season will be the same as the most recent season, with the Torneo Apertura in the first half of the year and the Torneo Clausura in the second half, and a Torneo Intermedio to be played between both tournaments.

Torneo Apertura

The Torneo Apertura, named "Sr. Abdón Porte", will be the first tournament of the 2018 season. It is scheduled to begin on 3 February and end on April 29.




Relegation is determined at the end of the season by computing an average of the number of points earned per game over the two most recent seasons: 2017 and 2018. The three teams with the lowest average will be relegated to the Segunda División for the following season.

Uruguay - Primera División 2014/15


The Uruguayan Primera División (English: First Division Professional League) also known as the "Primera División Uruguaya" or "Primera División de Uruguay"  (English: Uruguayan First Division) is organized by the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).
The First Championship of Uruguayan Primera Division was held in 1900, being an amateur competition until 1932 when the league became professional.
The Uruguayan Primera División, called "Torneo Uruguayo Copa Coca-Cola" for sponsorship reasons, is regarded as the 23rd most difficult football league in the 21st century by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics.
The 2014–15 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the 2014–15 Copa Uruguaya or the 2014–15 Campeonato Uruguayo, is the 111th season of Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 84th in which it is professional.
