Greece - Superleague 2014/15

The Superleague Greece (Greek: Σούπερ Λίγκα Ελλάδα) is the highest professional football league in Greece. It was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced Alpha Ethniki at the top of the Greek football league system. The league consists of 18 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 34 games each.
Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in season 1927–28, only six clubs have won the title, with the "big three" of Greater Athens (Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and AEK Athens) dominating and only PAOK, Aris and Larissa managing to break their dominance on a few occasions. The current champions are Olympiacos, who have won in total 41 titles.
The 2014–15 Superleague Greece is the 79th season of the highest football league of Greece and the ninth under the name Superleague. The season began on 23 August and will end in early May 2015. Olympiacos are the defending champions, having won their 41st Greek championship in the 2013–14 season.
The league comprises sixteen teams from the 2013–14 season and two promoted teams from the 2013–14 Football League.
Two teams were relegated from the 2013–14 season. Apollon Smyrni and Aris will play in Football League for the 2014–15 season.
Two teams were promoted from the 2013–14 Football League, champions Niki Volos and Kerkyra. Niki Volos returned to top level after 48 years.
