Germany - Bundesliga 2014/15


The Bundesliga is a professional association football league in Germany and the football league with the highest average stadium attendance worldwide. At the top of the German football league system, the Bundesliga is Germany's primary football competition. The Bundesliga is contested by 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the 2. Bundesliga. Seasons run from August to May. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekdays. All of the Bundesliga clubs qualify for the DFB-Pokal. The winner of the Bundesliga qualifies for the DFL-Supercup.


The 2014–15 Bundesliga is the 52nd season of the Bundesliga, Germany's premier football competition. The season started on 22 August 2014 and the final matchday is scheduled to take place 23 May 2015. Bayern Munich are the defending champions, after winning their 23rd Bundesliga title in the previous season with a record seven matchdays to spare.
A total of 18 teams play the league, 16 sides from the 2013–14 season and the two sides directly promoted from the 2013–14 2. Fußball-Bundesliga season: 1. FC Köln and SC Paderborn 07. The final participant was decided by a two-legged play-off, in which the 16th-placed Bundesliga club Hamburger SV defeated the team who finished third in 2. Bundesliga, SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
