Namibia - NPL Premier League 2014-15


The 2014-15 Namibia Premier League is the 26th season of top-tier football in Namibia. The season started on 11 October 2014. Black Africa S.C. are the defending champions, coming off their fourth consecutive title.
A total of 16 teams will contest the league, which expanded from 12 clubs in the 2013-14 season. Rundu Chiefs and Blue Boys F.C. were both relegated to First Division after finishing 11th and 12th, respectively, the previous season while Ramblers F.C. also dropped out from the previous year's league. Benfica F.C., Citizens F.C., Julinho Sporting F.C., Mighty Gunners F.C., Rebels F.C., Touch & Go F.C. and University of Namibia are all new additions to the competition this year.


Windhoek is the largest city in the Republic of Namibia with a great sporting history. Windhoek is home to well known clubs.


The Orlando Pirates F.C. is based in Katutura, Windhoek and play in the Namibian Premier League. The club holds two NPL titles, and the NFA Cup while you will find a few top class Brazilian players in the team. You can catch the Orlando Pirates playing their home games at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.


FC Civics Windhoek also plays in the NPL with its home base at Khomasdal, just north of the capital. The club is officially known as Buschschule Civics since 2000. The club is one of the most successful to rise from a street team to the top of the Namibian Premier League. They won three successive NPL titles between 2005 and 2007 and the NFA Cup on two occasions. FC Civics share the Sam Nujoma Stadium with the Orlando Pirates.




The Lively Lions aka the Black Africa Sports Club has its base in Katutura and are among the clubs to have the largest following. The semi professional club is one of the 12 NPL teams owned by one of Namibia’s business tycoons, Ranga Haikali and sponsored by the First National Bank of Namibia. Black Africa has won five league titles and numerous other competitions. They won league 2013/14

Julinho Sporting ’s first place in the 2013/14 North-East First Division (NEFD) football league last season earned them promotion to the country’s top-flight football league this coming season.
